Мне нравится Принялась продумывать дату, стало интересно привязать ее к (типа) первой выставке. У Эдны Ховард Джонс и в целой куче всяких статей указана выставка 1875 в Глазго. В такой книжке "Dog Shows And Doggy People" (обзоры выставок с указанием представленных пород, экспертов, бридеров и победителей) нашла выставку (On February 26th, 27th, 28th, and March 1st, T873, the Third Dog Show was held in the Burnbank Drill Hall, Glasgow, when they had 600 entries, and Mr. H. Marti in acted as secretary), но не нашла Ит в рецензии. Только это: ", the other varieties having a scanty following, but still not without typical representatives in most of them. At the Artillery Barracks, Hull, a dog show was held on October 9th, 10th, nth, and 12th, 1875, when an entry of 480 was obtained. . Irish Terriers had nearly all the prizes taken by Mr. G. Jamieson. The Annual Exhibition of Dogs in the Exhibition Palace, Dublin, was held on February 24th, 25th, and 26th, 1876, with the respectable entry of 600, under the management of Mr. John Douglas, and Messrs. Staunton and Wallace as hon. secretaries. Irish Terriers, over and under 16 lb., divided the prizes amongst Messrs. J. Doyle, Levinge, Mail, and Millner. An Exhibition of Sporting and other Dogs was held at Maidstone on May 9th, 10th, nth, and 12th, 1876, with an entry of 676, and Mr. G. H. Nutt as secretary. The only other well-filled class was for Irish Terriers, in which four or five prizes were taken by Mr. G. Jamieson with his Rattler, Banshee, Fly, and Badger, other winners being Messrs. Montgomery, Cunningham, Roberts, and Agnew.

Harrier-beagle-otterhounds are classed together. This was the first exhinition of terriers. Classes consisted of black & tan, white & smooth english, scotch, and toy terriers. At this point in history, all smooth terriers were classed english & all coated terriers scotch. 1861 leeds: bullterrier debut 1861 manchester: dandie dinmont & skye debut 1862 london (ag hall): fox terrier debuts. Some were classed "over 20lbs" in those days. From what I've gathered, smooth fox terriers were created by crossing terrier x foxhound (harrier? beagle?). 1862: birmingham: broken haired english terrier makes his debut. From what I gather, the broken haired english terrier was created by crossing smooth fox terriers x broken haired scotch terriers. 1863 london (march, ashburnham): white, blue, & fawn scotch terriers debut. Wolfhound & boarhound are exhibited in the foreign class. 1863 london (may, ag hall): Mr N A Wood wins "best monster dog" for his algerian mastiff "samson" (don't ask me?) 1864 london (ag hall): hinks bulldogs win across the board 1864 birmingham: scotch or broken haired terrier class 1864 manchester: Mrs Froggatt's african poodle wins 2nd in the foreign class 1865 manchester: mr j hinks wins 1st for his bull terrier madman, & another 1st for his pug, topsey :D '69 manchester: bedlington terriers debut!! '72 dublin: scotch/broken haired/& wirehaired are still functionally interchangeable terms '72 glasgow: fox terriers are exhibited in the "rough or wiry haired" variety for the first time '72 edinburgh: "rough or broken haired" terriers are exhibited together again. '72 nottingham: BHT J. inman's sandy (sire of horsfall's Dreadnought(9627) (this is the earliest origin of the breed I've recovered so far) '72 birmingham: WHT sanderson's venture (see; '73 manchester, crystal palace, nottingham, '75 nottingham, '79 WFT, '80 manningtree, '81 WFT) I believe this dog may be the "old venture" featured in early airedale pedigrees '73 dublin: irish terriers debut, fox terriers fury ('75 darlington, fury(4909), '76, '77, '80, '81, crack III's GGGgrandam), fox terrier nell ('79, et al. possibly crack III's dam? I'd say probably) '73 manchester: b&t J. ИРКО: А мне кажется,что такой день надо приурочить к какой-нибудь отечественной дате - что-либо типа - первый показ на выставке или рождение первого помета или день рождения первого чемпиона или... Ну тут фантазия привязок обширна. И есть люди, кто эту "ирландскую" историю знает. И молодежи напомнить, откуда "мы" пошли

Ruth: Дебют Ит состоялся все таки в 1874, согласно тексту с ITA и этому : A dog show was held in the Exhibition Palace, Dublin, on October 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th, 1874, with Mr. P. W. Corrigan as secretary, and an entry of 335. The judges who officiated were: Messrs. J. S. Skidmore, P. Watson, D. Bellamy, and C. F. Staunton. In Pointers, Setters (especially the Irish variety), and Spaniels (in which Irish figured well) most of the prizes went to Messrs. Morton and D. Sullivan, and Mr. P. Bullock was well in the front in the others. Fox-terriers found Messrs. S. W. Smith and Luke Turner amongst them; and at this show I first notice Mr. J. J. Pirn as an exhibitor. I do not remember before seeing classes provided for Irish Terriers, all the prizes in which, both over and under 9 lb., were taken by Mr. J. Frame. Other kinds of dogs had small entries, shown for the most part by persons not then known in this country.

День Св.Патрика больше имеет отношение к Ирландии и всему что связано с этой страной - пиво , клевер,леприконы , в этом буйстве зеленого цвета на фоне пяти национальных пород собак , ирландец несомненно не затерятся и блеснет , но это не праздник породы . И еще один момент хочется отметить , в больших городах участие собак в официальных празднованиях и шествияз все больше осложнятся , многие владельцы не захотят собирать документы и справки , тем более надевать намордники на своих питомцев , нам нужен СВОЙ ДЕНЬ . Ruth Спасибо , я поддерживаю предложение приурочить День Рождения Породы к первому официальному показу на выставке , 1874 год , октябрь месяц.

Это с какой стороны посмотреть , летом и весной (с мая по сентябрь включительно)точно ни кого не соберешь т.к.дачный сезон это почти табу , зимой выставки и не до сборов на свежем воздухе , а середина осени еще не так холодно и нет комаров .
